EMCOR Energy Services (EMCOR Energy), a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc. (EMCOR), has received contract from Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative (Plumas-Sierra) to design and build a cogeneration plant in Susanville, California. EMCOR Energy will be responsible for the design/build, including all engineering activities, equipment procurement, field construction and start-up, of this 6 megawatt cogeneration plant which contain two-three mega-watt reciprocating engines.

The plant will be built on the grounds of the California Correctional Center, and will flow power directly to the grid, with the thermal energy being sold both to the California Correctional Center and the adjacent High Desert State Prison.

Continuing EMCOR’s strong presence in the region and energy infrastructure expertise, we are pleased to be working with Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative, said Art Strenkert, president, EMCOR Energy. Our reputation has established EMCOR as one of the country’s most prominent contractors, and the work that our client is championing through this project sets an important energy utilization example that we believe sets a leading example for other organizations.
