The renewable energy industry has grown substantially following the highest ever contribution to UK’s electricity supply in autumn, says an energy statistics report from the UK government.

The report said that this contribution has enabled the government to produce 10% electricity through renewable energy sources, biofuelswatch.com reported.

The renewable have provided 8.6% of total electricity during the third quarter while individually, the wind, hydro and other renewable energy forms have increased by 23.1%.

The report further revealed that the wind energy sector has increased by 36.9%.

Trade association RenewableUK said that all these data shows that the the renewable sector has contributed the highest share of electricity.
