The Cimarron II wind project located in Gray County of Kansas will generate clean and zero-emission electricity which will be purchased by the Kansas City Power & Light, under a 20-year agreement.

The two companies have formed a joint venture to develop two wind farms in Kansas. This wind farm was the first of the two to be completed.

Sumitomo has purchased 50% stake each in the Cimarron II wind project and in the 168MW Ironwood Windpower Project, located in the Ford County, from Duke Energy.

Duke Energy Renewables, part of Duke Energy’s commercial businesses, develops innovative wind and solar energy generation projects.
