French hydro power producer CNR has signed a power marketing pact with Belgian generator Electrabel.
The new venture, known as Energie du Rhone, has a capital investment of US$5.22M and will allow CNR to use Electrabel’s marketing skills and thermal power plants to meet supply contracts if adverse weather conditions cause CNR’s hydro power generation to drop. The alliance will also give Electrabel a foothold in France and the Mediterranean to sell power and energy services.
