Located in Cileungsi, Bogor, Indonesia, the facility is equipped to locally design, manufacture and test transformers up to 550kV class, and is now scheduled to strengthen PT PLN’s transmission network.

The largest rating of the transformer manufactured at the facility is 500MVA and 550kV class.

Avantha Group Company CG CEO and managing director Laurent Demortier said the enhanced Indonesian facility makes the company a preferred partner for investors of power plants in Indonesia to source all their transformer requirements locally.

”With this, CG hopes to eventually erase the dependence of Indonesia’s power utilities on imports of power and generator transformers,” Demortier added.

Besides manufacturing capability, CG has also invested over $15m to build a 550kV Extra High Voltage (EHV) Test Lab in Indonesia, featuring advanced equipment sourced mostly from Europe and America.
