The Carmanah solar rooftop ballasted PV system is valued at approximately $580,000, and will install on the Tecumseh Vista Academy, the School Board’s first K-12 School.
The Ministry of Education Renewable Energy Funding for Schools program supports the grid-tied system being installed on the roof of the school’s gymnasium.
Upon completion, which is expected to be in August of 2011, the solar system will have a 100kW capacity.
