British Gas has formed an energy partnership with Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Islington, Westminster and Camden to deliver a GBP6 million 'Warmth and Comfort' scheme to improve the energy efficiency of homes throughout north London, by installing free insulation and heating to householders who receive a range of benefits.

The scheme will offer a range of energy efficiency measures including upgrading and installing central heating systems, cavity wall insulation and loft insulation.

The partnership believes that the scheme will help individuals to do their bit to tackle climate change, by reducing London’s CO2 emissions.

Stuart Margerrison, head of housing services group at British Gas, said: This scheme will deliver significant benefits to improve the efficient heating of people’s homes. Working with the six borough councils we can help make a big impact to tackle fuel poverty and improve the warmth and comfort of homes for thousands of Londoners.
