BridgeTex has commenced filling of storage tanks at the start of the pipeline system in Colorado City, Texas, and is ready to accept applications from spot shippers while line fill is due to start shortly.

The BridgeTex pipeline system will be capable of transporting around 300,000 barrels a day of crude oil from Colorado City, Texas, to Houston.

The project includes around 450 miles of newly-built pipeline from Colorado City to Houston and Texas City while Magellan is serving as the construction manager and operator of the pipeline.

Magellan Midstream owns the longest refined petroleum products pipeline system in the US, with access to around 50% of the nation’s refining capacity.

It can store over 90 million barrels of petroleum products, such as gasoline, diesel fuel and crude oil.
