The assets portfolio includes the 400MW Grande Prairie farm in Holt County, Nebraska and the 225MW Walnut Ridge wind farm in Bureau County, Illinois, US.
The Grande Prairie facility is expected to enter the construction phase this year and be commissioned in 2016 in northeastern Nebraska. Power generated from this facility will be sold to Omaha Public Power District (OPPD).
The Walnut Ridge project, which is under development, is due to commence construction in 2016.
About 140MW capacity of total power generated from the project will be sold to the US General Services Administration under a power purchase agreement.
Berkshire will also acquire a portfolio of solar projects, which are being developed as part of Xcel Energy’s Community Solar Garden Program, in Minnesota, US.
The solar facilities are expected to be completed next year.
