Chirkey hydroelectric power plant, located on Russia's Sulak river, has had 12 sections of the bearing on its No. 4 hydroelectric generator replaced.

Over two days all 12 sections were replaced with new components, as the fluoroplastic covering of the old sections had worn out.

Sections had already been replaced on the other three hydroelectric generators at the Chirkey complex. The new equipment parts were manufactured and supplied by JSC Energozapchast (Cheboksari city) experimental plant, at a cost of US$11,940.

The replacement work was carried out by specialists from the turbine facility at Chirkey, headed by K. Atagadzhiev, and from Energostroy, headed by S.Dibirov. The work was executed within the framework of a maintenance programme of JSC Regional Power Generation Company of Daghestan according to JSC HydroOGK’s Regulations on technology policy.
