Under the contract, Alstom will implement new technologies to extend the lifecycle of the substation while preserving the environment.

The equipment modernization, which is part of an overhauling maintenance work, will increase the opertional life of the substation by 20 years.

Alstom Grid in Latin America senior vice president Sérgio Gomes said: "This new project stems from a long-term commitment to support the modernization of Light Energia’s gas-insulated substations, highlighting their trust in our global expertise and our local team’s dedication."

The new contract is a part of Light Energia’s modernization strategy, under which Alstom upgraded two gas-insulated substations including Camerino with 11 bays, and Posto 6 with six bays, both located in Rio de Janeiro.
