According to state media, the last turbine was connected to the grid yesterday, bringing the project to its full 22.5GW operating capacity.
Construction work on the world’s largest hydro project began back in 1994, with the first turbine placed into operation in 2003. Full completion of all construction work on the project is expected in 2015.
