Hexagon Announces Release of CADWorx® 2020 for Intelligent Plant Design

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Hexagon PPM, the leading global provider of engineering software for the design, construction and operation of plants, ships and offshore facilities, announces the release of the CADWorx® 2020 bundles. This new release focuses on productivity enhancements and offers the most complete range of tools for efficient plant design, incorporating significant enhancements to streamline accuracy and consistency in project deliverables. These enhancements provide users more confidence in overall designs and add flexibility in using the software.

In its latest version, CADWorx Plant Professional includes a newly redesigned CADWorx Equipment module with workflow-focused tools for placing and creating equipment in a 3D model. These tools interact with libraries that can be created and maintained for multiple projects by CAD administrators in a new module, CADWorx Equipment Editor. Another improvement is to the P&ID View solution that helps designers to quickly correlate between P&IDs and the 3D models. Enhancements include unpopulated line number visualization and percentage complete reports that allow the users to see when projects are not fully correlated.

CADWorx Design Review Professional 2020 adds many popular 3D CAD formats to its native file types and includes intelligence from these files in the form of properties. To complement the additional CAD file formats, visualization of point clouds is now included in CADWorx Design Review Professional. This enables the contractor and client to decide where to build a new plant and how to optimize routes within the plant, ultimately lowering project execution costs.

This release has added even more efficiency enhancements to CADWorx Structure that help the CAD administrator and designer reduce the project execution time. Structural Connection components can be modeled with the primary steel within CADWorx Structure to give the designers basic Structural Detailing in their modeling processes. To address ever-changing project requirements, a Convert from SPRJ tool is available to push project level changes from the Structure Editor to the 3D model for the designers’ review.

The CADWorx Professional bundles cover all key aspects of plant project execution supporting the user through the complete project execution lifecycle. Spec-driven 3D modeling, production drawings and deliverables for plant industry structures, equipment, piping, P&IDs, and 3D visualization is possible through CADWorx and multiple other CAD formats. Building on top of Hexagon’s commitment to provide streamlined solutions for project execution workflows, all purchases include a copy of BricsCAD Platinum in CADWorx software bundle to aid CADWorx users by including a CAD platform. Existing maintenance customers receive this software as an addition to existing CADWorx maintenance contracts.
