PNE USA said that the Burleigh project, located near Bismarck in North Dakota, holds 24 land leases for over 15,000 acres with private landholders in Burleigh and Emmons Counties along with an interconnection queue position with MISO for 298MW.

The company has previously sold its 79.9MW Vivaldi/Stillwater Wind Project in Montana to Pattern Development, which has started commercial operation in 2018 under a power purchasing agreement (PPA) with Northwestern Energy.

PNE CEO Markus Lesser said: “I am happy about the successful sale in USA. This shows again, that the internationalization of our business works and is bearing fruit. We are well positioned for further projects in wind and solar PV in the USA.”

In February 2018, PNE has announced the completion of the Swedish wind energy project Laxaskogen, which was developed by the company and sold to the German private investor Wirtgen Invest Energy in 2017.

The wind farm was constructed in the South of Sweden by PNE group on behalf of the owner Wirtgen Invest Energy. The company has completed the construction within the first quarter 2019 as agreed.

The company said that the Laxaskogen project is located in a forest area that is already well equipped with roads constructed and used by forest machines and transportations. The total installed capacity for the Laxaskogen wind farm is 25.2MW, which consists of 7 turbines each with a capacity of 3.6MW.

PNE said that one of its companies WKN who developed the project in cooperation was responsible for the construction of the project.

Lesser added: “In this project we had very good und trustfully cooperation with the investor. The timely completion of the Laxaskogen wind farm demonstrates once again the high quality of PNE projects. Further wind farm projects in Sweden are already in the development phase.”
