Japanese wind turbine maker Zephyr Corporation has entered into an advisory services agreement with international venture capital firm Quantum Leaps Corporation to accelerate the expansion of its business with new strategies for the small wind turbine market.

A senior Zephyr official said that the Airdolphin, a 1kW compact mill that was launched in 2007 for the global market, was particularly well received in Europe.

The firm’s sales have also been reportedly expanding in the US, the Middle East, east Asia and Oceania which has led to a need for a faster development of a sales network as well as a global capitalization strategy that takes overseas financial markets into consideration.

The advisory services agreement allows Zephyr to advance its mid-term strategies strengthening its sales and after-sales service networks, including establishment of the required regional sales sites and capitalization strategies. Initial capitalization goal has been reportedly set for JPY1 billion.
