The patent protects Xunlight’s second gen roll-to-roll thin film silicon solar cell manufacturing machines; also it is a key addition to its intellectual property portfolio.
US based Xunlight that manufactures and markets lightweight solar photovoltaic modules, has been funded for its R&D initiatives by the US Departments of Energy and Commerce.
The company offers equipment that allows for manufacturing of 15MW per annum solar modules at $ 1.5 investment.
Xunlight believes having lowered capital investment it will provide for an incentive for manufacturers to produce their own PV modules.
