WindPower Innovations has been selected by GWS Technologies to provide equipment and services for the Colorado Plateau Wind Energy I project, located in Arizona, US.
Colorado Plateau wind project is a 1500-acre commercial wind farm under development northeast of Flagstaff.
WindPower Innovations said that the company will bring a comprehensive range of services to the Colorado Plateau wind project, including access to its heavy lift facility, crane services, construction and ongoing turbine maintenance in addition to its next generation Grid-Tie Inverter solutions and Turbines.
WindPower Innovations president and CEO John Myers said that Arizona utilities are required to generate 15% of their power from renewable energy sources, such as wind turbines and solar panels, by 2025 to meet state requirements.
