As part of the deal, Vestas will supply 7 V112-3.3 MW wind turbines to the power plant.

The contract also includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline Business SCADA system, as well as a five-year full-scope service agreement.

The wind turbines for the extension project are expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2014, and will be commissioned in the second quarter of 2014, while the existing Bakras wind power plant currently includes 5 V90-3.0 MW turbines.

The complete Bakras project will have the capacity to produce around 120 GWh per year, and will provide electricity to cover the residential electricity consumption of about 200,000 people in Turkey.

Vestas Turkey general manager Olcayto Yigit said, "Having provided 100 per cent of the Tefirom Group’s wind capacity gives us pride and confidence in our organisation as well as in our products."
