The contract includes delivery and commissioning of the turbines along with a 10-year service and maintenance agreement.

Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for mid-2011 and commissioning is expected by the end of 2011.

Vestas Americas president Martha Wyrsch said that the V100-1.8MW turbine is designed to produce large amounts of energy for areas with low and medium wind speeds.

In 2007, Vestas supplied John Deere 32 units of the V82-1.65MW turbine for the Harvest Wind project near Bad Axe, Michigan, and an additional 33 units of this turbine for two projects in Oregon.
