The company has shipped approximately 20 tons of flake graphite via truck from Port Lincoln to its Port Adelaide logistics handling facility for export.

Valence is working to increase production rate and manufacture of graphite products at Port Lincoln plant to 14,000 tons a year, while meeting customer needs from refractories and foundries through to battery and biomedical applications.

Valence Industries’ Uley Graphite plant started operations in December 2014, and has completed around first 1,500 tons of run-of-mine stockpiles.

The commissioning and production ramp up phase are planned to be completed by September quarter of 2015.

Valence Industries said it will continue to operate the plant and equipment in compliance with regulatory process waste water management requirements.
