The US$8.9M deal was awarded by the Electric Power Industry of the Montenegro stock company Niksic (EPCG).

With the complete project finance provided by Germany’s Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), Voith is to install excitation systems for four 40MVA units, the VSHyCon Excellent CS7 control system, and new automation and monitoring systems at the plant located on the Gornja Zeta river.

Work on the run-of-the-river scheme, which contributes nearly half of the country’s hydro capacity, is also to include partial rehabilitation of the plant’s auxiliary power supply, and is expected to be completed by 2006.
