Utility Partners of America (UPA) has won a contract from Itron, a technology provider to the global energy and water industries, to deploy a substantial water meter automation project for the Cleveland Division of Water in Ohio.

Over a three-year period, UPA will install Itron’s ChoiceConnect 100W water modules in the City of Cleveland and surrounding communities.

Through its call center, UPA will also provide technical and customer support throughout the deployment, including advance scheduling and inquiry response.

UPA specializes in the installation of smart meters, in-home devices, electric vehicle charging stations, and fixed network-based systems, such as the one being introduced in Cleveland.

The initiative represents more than 425,000 smart meter connections for the Cleveland Division of Water.
