Under the contract, Unirac will supply two 10MW Ground Mount Steel (GMS) racking solutions for solar PV projects, which are being executed in two phases.

Having started work in the fall 2013, the projects are set to complete in 2014 and will generate enough clean energy to power around 4,000 homes annually.

Supported by an industry leading warranty, GMS is the result of over ten years of experience in the fixed ground mount market, catering various project requirements.

Unirac claims that its project construction, pre-assembled components and module pre-panelization enable installers achieve extremely low total installed costs.

RES Canada vice president Peter Clibbon said the company recognized the need to select a racking provider that understands the construction methodology to accommodate the rocky Canadian soil.

"Unirac provides an optimized design for ground mounts with fewer foundations, yielding the lowest total installed cost," added Clibbon.
