The plant located on the Tennessee River has the generating capacity of 3,400MW.

Three reactors at the plant had been shut down on 27 April, due to last month’s storm, which cut down power supply from the federal utility.

TVA said the company is restoring the damaged transmission lines and will replace lost power generation, with approximately $200m.

The company said it has restored four of the nine major transmission lines and will resume power generation at the remaining two reactors, which are still shut down.

The company said the nuclear power reactors were safely idle with the help of backup power from emergency diesel generators.
