Voith Siemens has completed tests on the model turbines for the hydro stations of Middle Marsyangdi in Nepal and Peixe Angical in Brazil.

In the presence of the customers, Nepal Electricity Authority for the Nepalese plant and Enerpeixe for the Brazillian plant, all the guarantees as defined during bidding and award were fulfilled.

Middle Marsyangdi will be equipped with two Francis turbines (runner diameter of 2.2m), each generating 40MW at a head of around 100m. The plant utilises the Marsyangdi river around 160km west of Kathmandu.

The larger Peixe Angical will be equipped with three Kaplan turbines (runner diameter of 8.6m), each generating 169MW at a head of 29m.
