Trina Solar, an integrated manufacturer of solar PV products, has planned to invest approximately $800m over three years in Changzhou Trina PV Park.

The company will make the investment in Changzhou Trina PV Park from 2011 to 2013 for the purposes of expanding its manufacturing capacity and research and development facilities to meet the global demand for its PV products.

The company is claimed to have shipped approximately 1GW of solar PV modules in 2010 representing an increase of approximately 151% from the annual PV module shipments in 2009.

The company’s local Changzhou operating entity Changzhou Trina Solar Energy has surpassed the revenue milestone of CNY10bn for the calendar year 2010, reflecting its on-going execution of business strategy and operations growth.

Trina Solar chairman and CEO Jifan Gao said that the company is pleased to announce the continuing investments in its capacity expansion and R&D within the Changzhou Trina PV Park to meet the increasing global demand for its PV products and brand.

"The investments will also include the establishment of our State Key PV Research Laboratory to accelerate the advancement and delivery of new technologies and products to solidify our position as a global PV industry leader," Gao said.
