OAO AK Transneft (Transneft) has opened the second stage of the Baltic pipeline system on June 10, 2009. The pipeline with total length about 1,200 kilometers will be on the route g.Unecha (Bryansk region) - the city of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region), with a branch at Kirishskaya refinery. Construction will be undertaken in two phases. In the first phase scheduled to start construction of the first set with a throughput capacity of up to 30 million tons of oil annually.
In the second phase, the capacity of the system will be increased to 50 million tons of oil annually. Commissioning of the first starting complex is planned for late 2012.
