The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) is awarding $25,000 grant to International Relief & Development (IRD) to help provide clean water to communities in Ethiopia.

The TPRF grant will support aid for 24,000 people living near the Ethiopian border with Somalia.

The TPRF grant enables IRD to implement an emergency water and sanitation plan in the Afdher and Liban zones.

IRD relief & humanitarian aid director Adam Koons said the staff will procure water trucks and provide water purification supplies.

TPRF said the widespread drought has had a devastating effect on crops and livestock and therefore the food supply.

IRD’s staff are using TPRF funds as part of their six-month or longer emergency relief program in Ethiopia.
