The exploration licenses cover an area of 3,200 sq km with water depths ranging from 2,000 to 3,000m and are located about 100km off the coast of Côte d’Ivoire.

Total will operate the CI-514 license with a 54% stake, and its partners in this license are Canadian Natural Ressources International (36%) and Petroci (10%).

The French company will also hold a 45% stake in the CI-515 and CI-516 licenses, alongside Anadarko (45%) and Petroci (10%).

Total said it will become the operator of these blocks upon the first commercial discovery.

The work program includes a 3D seismic survey of the whole acreage and drilling of one well on each block during the initial three-year exploration period.
