Teridian Semiconductor Corporation (Teridian Semiconductor) has appointment Jay Cormier as vice president (VP) and general manager for the Networking & Secure Access (NSA) business unit. Cormier will report to Gerald Fitch, Teridian Semiconductor's president and chief executive officer. He has joined the company from Sierra Monolithics, Inc., where he served as VP of products & marketing/corporate officer.

Cormier will oversee the management of new product development, hardware and firmware development strategy, application support, marketing communications, and NSA business unit profitability.

“Jay is a welcome addition to the Teridian executive team and brings a great deal of semiconductor and executive level experience that we will leverage for our Networking & Secure Access business,” stated Fitch. “Jay will be instrumental in helping us to gain market share in our modem, smart card and ethernet product lines, and will lead the development of our enterprise and consumer related energy measurement and communication products.”

Cormier has also held a variety of executive level positions at Mindspeed Technologies, Inc., Analog Devices, Inc. and Sipex Corporation. He has more than 20 years of experience working in the semiconductor industry. He holds an MBA from the Northeastern University and a BSEE from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
