Tekmar Energy has secured a contract from VBMS to supply cable protection systems (CPS) for East Anglia ONE Offshore Windfarm of Scottish power renewables.

Under the contract, Tekmar will install its 7th generation of TekLink CPS, bellmouths and cover disks in the wind facility.

The 714MW East Anglia ONE, situated 43km off the Suffolk Coast in the southern North Sea, will have 102 Siemens 7MW wind turbines.

VBMS also issued the contract to JDR Cables, based in north east of England, to deliver power cables.

VBMS, Tekmar and JDR Cables jointly worked on Sandbank and Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm projects in the UK, that started operations in 2016.

After the Rampion Offshore Windfarm project which is currently in installation, East Anglia ONE marks the second UK round 3 project for Tekmar. 

Tekmar has supplied over 5000 cable protection systems for over 50 offshore wind projects across the globe.

Tekmar has over three decades of experience in designing, manufacturing and supplying subsea cable, umbilical and flexible protection systems for the renewable energy and oil and gas industry.

Tekmar CEO James Ritchie said: “Not only is East Anglia the second UK round 3 project we have worked on, it’s also the second 66kV cable project we have worked on which puts Tekmar at the forefront of cable protection on these new and innovative large scale projects of the future.”

Tekmar, founded in 1985 and headquartered in the UK, had over 200 employees and also provides cable hang off clamps, subsea polyurethane components, bespoke engineered solutions.
