“In Peru we have also established a large amount of exploration acreage in the Maranon basin in the middle of the Amazon jungle and have made a significant discovery at the Block 64 Situche discovery, recently drilling a successful appraisal well that has established what we think are commercial reserves in the field,” said Nick Walker, executive vice-president of international operations.
The company had also made a discovery in its Huron Foothills well in neighbouring Colombia and has planned to commence seismic tests and appraisal drilling at that site in 2010, Walker said.
