The E85 ethanol-blended petrol contains 85% ethanol and 15% conventional petrol and can be used only in flex-fuel automobiles running on E85 and petrol.
Svenska Statoil has earlier reported that it has sold 4.6 million liters of the E85 fuel in January 2008, an increase of 169% when compared to the same period in 2007.
Svenska Statoil reportedly operates around 280 ethanol filling stations in Sweden. The retailer blends 5% ethanol in the 95-octane rated petrol it sells at its fuel stations.
