Mahindra will use the SunPower solar panels for developing multiple grid-connected solar power plants in the Indian states of Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
SunPower intends to deliver the solar panels by the end of this year.
The SunPower T0 Tracker is a ground-mounted system that rotates the solar panels to follow the sun’s movement during the day, increasing sunlight capture by up to 25% over conventional fixed-tilt systems.
Mahindra Cleantech head Parag Shah said the solar plants the company develop will reliably maximize its return on investment while generating clean, renewable power for India.
US-based SunPower designs, manufactures and delivers solar panels and systems.
