Construction of the solar plant will begin this year and the project is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2011.
Iberdrola Renewables is developing the power project and will own and operate it.
The electricity produced from the plant will be sold under a long term contract to US based Xcel Energy for distribution on the region’s utility grid.
The power plant will use SunPower E19 solar panels, mounted on the company’s tracker systems.
