The wildcat well 7219/8-2 is the first exploration well in the license, which Statoil will drill from the West Hercules drilling facility.

PL608 consisting of block 7219/8 was awarded in the 21st licensing round in 2011.

Statoil can spud the well only after securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing drilling activities.

Statoil Petroleum is the operator of the license with an ownership interest of 50%, while the other licensees Eni Norge and Petoro each own 30% and 20% respectively.
