Statkraft will buy 50% of the electricity produced by Dong’s Burbo Bank, Gunfleet Sands, Walney and London Array wind farms.
The contract, which runs for the next two years, is based on a variable spot price.
A total delivery of 2.7TWh of electricity is estimated during the two-year contract period and this equates to approximately £160m based on the current forward price for UK electricity.
Dong Naturgas, a subsidiary of Danish utility Dong Energy, is engaged in distribution and trading of natural gas and electricity.
