The Rogers Machinery installation includes 1,074 solar panels covering 14,499sqft of preexisting roof space. The system will supply approximately 52.5% of the electrical energy required for the 96,000sqft, 104-employee facility.

Paul Hodge, CEO of Solar Nation, said: “Everyone benefits when businesses like Rogers Machinery Company install solar-energy systems. Businesses that install solar-energy systems in Oregon consume the power they produce, effectively increasing the overall capacity of the grid without the need for new power plants or transmission lines.

“The immediate cost savings to these businesses make them stronger businesses – stronger employers – all while reducing carbon emissions and improving the environment.”

It is estimated that over its 25-year warranted life, the Rogers Machinery’s solar-energy system will keep 298,283 tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere, Solar Nation said.
