SMEC has been awarded the feasibility study contract for the enhancement of the Sans Souci (Diamamouve) Dam in Mauritius by the Central Electricity Board.

SMEC will investigate raising the full supply level of the reservoir via installation of gates on the free-overflow spillway, without affecting the safety of the dam.

Sans Souci Dam was commissioned in 1984 and was designed and supervised by SMEC. The rockfill dam with a central clay core is 35m high, has a crest length of 350m and a 30MW power station.
