Silver Spring will implement its multi-application, standards-based IPv6 networking platform and deliver two-way communications.
Metrix has been using Silver Spring’s platform in the Northpower and Wellington Electricity networks to deliver services to retailer Mercury Energy, and to deliver smart metering-as-a-service to multiple retailers.
Metrix CEO Matt Olde said: "Silver Spring’s standards-based platform offers Metrix and its customers flexibility from an operational standpoint, while also offering the opportunity for Metrix to grow our capabilities over time to potentially include additional services for electricity providers, such as load disaggregation, and other services for water utilities and for smart city services such as intelligent street lights."
