SemCAMS general manager David Williams said, "We expect increasing amounts of natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) will be attracted to our facilities in the coming years, and we understand how important it is to producers that their products get to market reliably and efficiently."

The company has also signed a take-or-pay 10-year term transportation service agreement with NuVista Energy for the project.

Scheduled to be operational as early as the second quarter of 2015, the new pipeline will be owned and operated by SemCAMS.

The new gathering system, also known as Northwest Wapiti Loop, comprises a 21 mile, 8 inch, sour gas gathering pipeline with 30mmcf/d of capacity.

Located in the middle of the Montney region, the pipeline will deliver the production to SemCAMS’ Kaybob South 3 (K3) gas plant.

If the project support commitments are received, SemCAMS will add an additional 30mmcf/d of compression to the Wapiti Pipeline.
