The payment relates to Phase 1 of the agreement that was to produce enough renewable energy to meet the requirements of a 100,000 British Colombian citizens.
Apart from the payment related to purchase, Sea Breeze will continue to receive royalty based on the percentage of gross revenue earned by the project through a 20-year electricity purchase agreement with British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority.
The Cape Scott Wind Farm is scheduled to commence commercial operations in 2013.
Sea Breeze president Paul B Manson said, "The local addition of 99 megawatts of clean and renewable energy is a substantial step towards creating a high level of energy security for the residents of Vancouver Island."
