This new system has been completely re-designed to surpass its predecessor. Rigorous testing has proven it’s more reliable and adaptable in a variety of conditions. Several system configurations will be available to accommodate a diverse variety of situations and conditions.

Assessment of the prior system design revealed that, if changes were made, performance would be enhanced. To that end, the turbine blades were enlarged and the mounting system was modified. The new blades are in the process of being tested and will come into full production shortly. The mount production has begun along with the new proprietary low wind and low rpm generator, which will complete the system.

The enhanced mounting system will lower the total installed cost by reducing the cost of the installation. This also allows for greater site flexibility. The system will be manufactured and assembled in-house at Sauer Energy’s facility in Camarillo, California. Made in America, we have made sure that the quality and construction will be superior to the former overseas turbine system. Installation of the new system will be safer to handle and install.

The enhanced WindRider underscores and confirms Sauer Energy’s commitment to innovation and its position in the wind energy sector as an innovator that can provide engineering quality and design flexibility.

"The finishing touches are being put on the production schedule and we are really excited! Our mission has always been to deliver quality and the most reliable system we can. For the future, you can expect to see more industry leading innovations. These solutions will be able to offer the greatest flexibility of design to maximize overall value and performance," commented Dieter Sauer, CEO and President of Sauer Energy.

Turbine improvements:

Easier assembly and installation

  • Safer turbine assembly at ground level
  • Turbine shipped nearly fully assembled with generator
  • Elimination of previous "D-brackets"
  • Full assembly in just a few hours
  • No Cranes, reduced installation costs

Turbine construction

  • Greater rigidity without external visible supports
  • More aesthetically pleasing elegant curves
  • Quieter due to elimination of unnecessary components and use of various synthetic materials
  • New construction method eliminates alignment issues with external top bearing
  • Lighter mounts, made in-house, result in higher quality control standards
  • Ability to switch out blades individually

Cost effective mount

  • Lower cost while maintaining top quality results in a larger payback for investors and quicker payback for consumers
  • Less expensive to transport, lower weight, compact shipping size
  • Variety of mounts, stand-alone, side or customer specific mount
  • More efficient transfer of energy and torque to generator
