Sandy Hill Camp and Retreat Center in the US have commissioned a 152kW solar system for their 220-acre facilities in Chesapeake Bay.

Dynamic Solar, a fully integrated energy developer, provided design, engineering and construction for the system.

AUI assisted Dynamic Solar in constructing the solar system, which is expected to produce about 185,000 hours of energy each year.

The newly installed system is expected to offset 127 metric tons of CO2 each year, which is 3,175 tons over a quarter of a century, and this is comparable to removing 625 cars from Maryland’s roads over the system’s 25 year warranted lifetime.

Sandy Hill Camp and Retreat Center director Greg Joseph said working with Dynamic Solar has proven to be a positive experience. We are impressed by the quality and responsiveness of their staff,".

"We are excited to be able to showcase renewable energy to the thousands of campers, parents, and retreat guests who come to reconnect with the outdoors and to enjoy the beauty of camp on the Chesapeake Bay each year," Joseph said.

Dynamic Solar Operations vice president Michael Cromer said Sandy Hill is the ideal place for solar, a beautiful camp facility making a sound economic investment in clean, renewable energy.

"We were delighted to have been a part of this construction and congratulate the Sandy Hill Camp and Retreat Center team on going solar," Cromer said.
