Under the first contract, Staatsolie has awarded Saipem an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the expansion of the Tout Lui Faut refinery in Suriname.
The company will provide engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction activities with an objective to double its capacity to 15,000 barrels per day within 43 months.
Saipem’s Arbatax fabrication unit in Italy will undertake fabrication of pre-assembled portion of the plant.
The company undertook engineering activities for a period of ten months at the refinery under a reimbursable agreement signed previously.
In Nigeria, Saipem has secured a contract from Shell Petroleum Development to construct a 42km long Otumara-Saghara-Escravos gas pipeline.
The project will be completed in 18 months.
