Sadbhav Engineering, a civil engineering construction company based in India, has secured INR1.73bn ($28.64m) contract project from the Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL) Jharkhand mine.

As per the 72-month contract, the company will extract nearly 2,250,000 m3 of uranium ore from the Banduhurang opencast mine located in East Singhbhum district of the state.

Sadbhav will also transport the ore to the ground hopper at Turamdih, besides removing an additional 6,075,000 m3 of waste from the mine, reported Indian Express.

UCIL claims that the Banduhurang uranium mine is of comparatively much lower grade than the uranium deposit being mined in India.

The state-run uranium miner is expected to extend the contract for additional 24 months if the company performs satisfactorily.
