Both the countries have confirmed their interest in bilateral cooperation in the following areas: assistance in development of nuclear power infrastructure; fundamental and applied research; use of radio-isotopes; building and operation of commercial and research nuclear reactors; nuclear safety and control; execution of joint projects on prospecting and mining of uranium; treatment of radioactive waste; provision of nuclear fuel cycle services; training and professional development of administrative and scientific-technical personnel.

The agreement was signed by Nikolai Spasski, deputy head of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, and H.E.Sayyid Badr Hamad Hamood Al Busaidi, secretary general of Oman’s foreign ministry.
