EDF EN has selected REpower MM82 and MM92 turbines for the installation at Massif du Sud wind farm located on the south shore of Quebec City.
REpower will start supplying 75 units, each with a rated output of 2MW and a hub height of 80m, from early 2012.
The 150MW wind power project is expected to be commissioned next year.
REpower has also agreed to oversee maintenance of the wind turbines.
REpower Canadian subsidiary managing director Helmut Herold said the company’s cold climate turbines, which are particularly suited to the climatic conditions in Canada, have proven themselves in pilot projects and sell themselves very well.
