The Shoaiba 4 desalination plant will satisfy the potable water needs of 5 million people in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The desalination facility will purify up to 400000m3 of sea water into fresh water each day, using reverse osmosis membranes.

The assignment, whose value is not revealed, includes engineering and supervision of construction, erection and commissioning of the plant.

Pöyry is an international consulting and engineering company that offer solutions across power generation, transmission and distribution, mining & metals, transportation, water, and others.

The Finnish engineering consulting firm bagged a contract from the Austrian Power Grid to reconstruct and modernize a transmission system substation in Austria.

The contract is related to a 110kV switchgear at the Ernsthofen substation located in the northern part of the country. Pöyry’s scope in the contract is to deliver detailed design engineering, project management and installation services along with equipment.

The project is scheduled to begin in the second quarter and is targeted to be finished by 2022 end.
