PSEG Nuclear, a subsidiary of Public Service Enterprise Group, has extended its nuclear outage and maintenance services contract with Areva.

Areva said that the contract will be extended until 2022.

The extended contract covers services at the Salem Units 1 and 2, and the Hope Creek nuclear generating stations in New Jersey.

Areva will continue to provide technical support services to PSEG’s pressurised water and boiling water reactor.

It will also support with refueling outages, inspections and steam generator services, Areva said.

In July 2013, Areva has signed its first operations and maintenance contract with PSEG.

PSEG Nuclear senior vice president and COO Bob Braun said, "We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Areva.

"This extension will further support our refueling outage efforts and the work of our dedicated employees."

Areva installed base business division executive vice president Philippe Samama said, "Areva has successfully worked with PSEG Nuclear for many years, and we remain dedicated to our common objectives for the highest levels of safety, quality, and performance."
